PPP uses Tax Payers money to fund Party Welfare System
So the facts are in about the reason for the linden rate hikes and frankly it is extremely repugnant. The PPP confessed in parliament that 180 of their top PPP operatives were affected by the budget cuts. Many of these persons work directly out of the party headquarters at Freedom House.
What this means is what the AFC has been claiming for some time now among others, that the PPP has no delineation between State funds and party funds. The PPP uses tax payers money as if it belongs to them and this is why Ashni Singh and the PPP does not want independence in the Auditor Generals office.
So because the tax cuts were made the PPP needed to find money immediately to pay these folks. The best way to do this was to claim that they were paying subsidies to Bosai for electricity supplied to lindeners and then they could raise the rates in linden and pay for these lackys and stooges of the party apparatus. What a brilliant plan? and guess who is in the middle of this plan? Samuel Archibald Hinds.
Several high-profile PPP members employed on a contractual basis by the Office of the President (OP) are among more than 180 persons not receiving monthly payments of wages and allowances as a result of the opposition-led cuts on the 2012 National Budget, according to information released by Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh.
Singh made the disclosure in a written response to a question posed by A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Member of Parliament (MP) Joseph Harmon, who sought to find out the name, agency, designation and salary of persons whose employment was terminated as a direct consequence of the budget cuts.
Singh noted that the cuts saw 124 contract employees at the Office of the President (OP), 36 Government Infor-mation Agency (GINA) employees, and 25 workers at the Ethnic Relations Commis-sion (ERC) not accessing their salaries.
At OP, Gail Teixeira, who has been a long-standing PPP member, a serving MP and a former government minister, is paid $967,985 monthly, representing a salary plus allowances for her duties as a presidential advisor.
Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud, the PPP’s longest serving central committee member, who is unwell and is aided during his public appearances, is also listed as an advisor to the president, for which he receives $412,266 monthly.
Listed as presidential advisor on sustainable development is the former Agriculture Minister and former MP for the PPP, Navin Chandarpal, who earns $470,000 monthly. His wife, Indra Chandarpal, who is an MP for the PPP, is listed as the “Prime Executive of the Co-ord. Council [Women and Gender Equality Commission]” for which she is paid $393,117 monthly.
This is why when the PPP ordered Indranie Chandarpal to fire Freddie Kissoon they willingly obliged had they refused they would also be cut off from the welfare system. Navin Chandarpal has no credibility left he also was creating a stink before the election because he was cut off by Jagdeo from the welfare system, the cheques had stopped flowing to him and his wife and a few of their sympathizers, this has been confirmed by several PPP sources. This made him furious that other Jagdeo lackys were benefiting from his work and loyalty to the PPP for decades.
