Nurses and ancillary staff of the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) this morning downed tools and proceeded to block Casuarina Drive, Watooka, Linden protesting the deplorable state of the road.

The road is the main access to the recently constructed state-of-the-art LHC, Watooka, Fair’s Rust, Richmond Hill and other riverain communities including Kwakwani, Ituni, Nottinghamshire and Coomacka among others.

There has been much talk and negotiations in the administrative arm of the Region for some time now but no action is evident.

Simultaneously, taxi drivers are convening a meeting to address the burning issues surrounding roads in Linden.
