Dear Mrs. Hack,
Re: the Killing of Shaquille Grant at 110 Ceasar Street, Agricola East Bank Demerara.
We have been consulted by Ms. Shonette Adams, mother ofShaquille Grant. We are instructed that Shaquille Grant was shot to death on the 11th instant by a member or
members ofthe Guyana Police Force. Mr. Grant was shot twice. Once in the stomach and once in his forehead.
Yesterday the writer visited the scene of the shooting of Mr. Grant, where interviews were held with witnesses.
We obtained a signed statement from a female eye witness who has expressed petrifaction of the Guyana Police Force.
The statement from the eye witness was taken by the writer and signed by the eye witness. We have included below the contents of the statement.
We have elected to write directly to you because of the witness’ real fear that she will be placed in considerable jeopardy ifher identity was revealed to the Guyana Police Force.
We are prepared to share the original of the statement with you personally. However until we are assured that the witness’ safety is not compromised or threatened we
are unlikely to have her engage with the Guyana Police Force.
We believe that an arrangement can be arrived at which independent investigative Officers from the region are engaged to conduct the investigation into the homicide.
