No fraud committed by these folks
Friday, 27 January 2012

Dear Editor,

Now that the criminal charges against the three former managers of NBS have been dismissed, as a former director of the NBS Board, I think that justice and decency require that I state publically that at no time did the NBS Board contemplate that Maurice Arjoon, Kent Vincent, or Kissoon Baldeo were criminally or otherwise involved in the fraudulent withdrawal of funds from a member’s account.

The Board was informed that the DPP had compelling evidence against these gentlemen. Therefore, it is difficult for me to understand why it took so long for the matter to be concluded.

It is regrettable that the turn of events led to their public disgrace and humiliation.

Yours faithfully,
David Yhann

Mission Statement

The Mark Benschop Foundation was officially launched in March 2008 by its founder and chairman Mark Benschop and other concerned Guyanese and well wishers in the United States of America. What started as a small operation geared toward helping those in need has grown so large that they were forced to move their offices to a whole building in East Street where the vast amount of people responding to their generosity  could be accommodated.
