A woman from East Ruimveldt is alleging police harassment after ranks arrested her sons early Saturday morning for the second time. Linda Glasgow, the mother of Stacy Bernard, 19, and Judha Ferguson, 24, is calling on the Guyana Police Force to conduct a full investigation as to why her two sons are always targeted by the police. Glasgow told Kaieteur News that her two sons were arrested last month and held for 72 hours. However, they were released after an identification parade was done.
The woman explained that her sons were arrested on Saturday morning after 04:00 hrs when the police raided their home.
She said that she was awoken by the sounds of persons kicking on her front and back doors. Glasgow told this newspaper that she looked through the front windows and saw three men dressed in black clothes. The men did not identify themselves.

The woman said that before she could have asked who the men were the kicking continued at the back door.
“After I looked through the window and saw the men, before I could have asked who they were the kicking started at the back, so I ran there”
She said that she was fearful so she asked who was outside and a male voice shouted that it was the police.
She immediately opened the door and the police informed her that they were looking for bandits, guns and ammunition.
Glasgow said that she objected to the search since she knew that none of the mentioned articles were in her house.
The woman said that while the officers were searching her home they were adamant that thieves lived in the house.
According to Glasgow, the police men ransacked all the wardrobes, cupboards.
Soon after the search was over the police told the two young men that they needed to get dressed because they were under arrest.
The woman’s children are presently being detained at the Golden Grove Police Station.
Glasgow also claims that the continued police harassment has caused her eldest son Ferguson to lose his job, while the other son was given a warning letter.
Ferguson was reportedly working at a prominent local hotel, but his employers fired him after his first arrest.
The woman is now fearful that her other son would lose his job.
Up to late yesterday evening both siblings were still in police custody.
