Police at Mahaica on the East Coast of Demerara are on the hunt for a pastor of a Unity church who disappeared after his stepdaughter revealed that he had sexually molested her. The child, who is now 17 years old, made the revelations on Tuesday night after her stepfather had scolded her. She told investigators that the man had been sexually molesting her since she was eight years old. She also disclosed that the last time the sexual assault occurred was on Monday last. According to reports, the child had kept their affair a secret until the scolding on Tuesday. Neighbours said that the child stood in the yard and angrily made the shocking disclosure. The Probation Department of the Ministry of Human Services was contacted and subsequently the police. However, when the police went to the pastor’s home, the man of the cloth had already vanished.
