Valentine come and gone and some people suddenly know how lonely life can be. Bharrat sit at home and de only flower he get was from Kwame. Dem had some gyal who did want to go and sport wid he because nuff drinks does share. Bharrat don’t have to pay. However, dem gyal frighten de security guard suh dem keep dem distance. Uncle Adam didn’t even get a flower but he get some text message and some phone call. He even get a promise that if he behave heself he gun get some company next year. But dem had nuff lonely people. Khurshid sit down and look through he window whole day hoping that some neighbour would come over. He still waiting. Bharat Dindyal had to watch de GPL station and all de watch he watch dem still had blackout.

Uncle Glenn get some gift from he daughter and he show off till he find out that she tek some things that he had in de house already from last year and give he again. Dem boys seh that is he money did buy de gift in de first place.

Of course, two people from de Waterfalls paper who dem boys know, as usual, go home to dem mother wid big bag to carry food.

In this day and age, men don’t even stand up pun dem own foot.

Clement daughter getting married suh he claim how he didn’t have time wid Valentine. He claim that de money he gun spend pun dem chocolate gun pay dem boys fuh drive around to all he friends and collect support fuh de wedding.

Ashni claim how he got to worry bout dem question that people gun ask he over he budget.

He also got to explain how dem miners mek de government back down and dem boys seh that de government want de miners money and de money from Norway at de same time suh dem have to dance a fine line.

Anyhow, Valentine’s Day done and Mash coming. All who was lonely just got to go to de float parade and find friends.

Mission Statement


The Mark Benschop Foundation was officially launched in March 2008 by its founder and chairman Mark Benschop and other concerned Guyanese and well wishers in the United States of America. What started as a small operation geared toward helping those in need has grown so large that they were forced to move their offices to a whole building in East Street where the vast amount of people responding to their generosity  could be accommodated.
