Benschop and Kissoon visit Whales Sugar Estate

Yesterday, Mark Benschop and Freddie Kissoon met with sugar workers at the Whales Sugar Estate. Workers were on strike for a few days for better working conditions and salary increase. Benschop told the workers not to allow the PPP to continue to use them as political tools. Whilst Kissoon called for a major strike in the industry. Both men were later expelled from the compound by scurity guards. Kissoon and Benschop promise to return to shut the Estate down if workers rights aren't addressed.

Mission Statement

The Mark Benschop Foundation was officially launched in March 2008 by its founder and chairman Mark Benschop and other concerned Guyanese and well wishers in the United States of America. What started as a small operation geared toward helping those in need has grown so large that they were forced to move their offices to a whole building in East Street where the vast amount of people responding to their generosity could be accommodated.
