Yesterday, Mark Benschop and Freddie Kissoon met with sugar workers at the Whales Sugar Estate. Workers were on strike for a few days for better working conditions and salary increase. Benschop told the workers not to allow the PPP to continue to use them as political tools. Whilst Kissoon called for a major strike in the industry. Both men were later expelled from the compound by scurity guards. Kissoon and Benschop promise to return to shut the Estate down if workers rights aren't addressed. |
