Appointing McKoy to the Rights of the Child Commission is too much to tolerate
Saturday, 14 March 2009
Dear Editor,
When will this unacceptable mood of extremely poor governance end, and where will it lead us?
This latest assault on decency by appointing Kwame McKoy to the Rights of the Child Commission is really a little too much for us to tolerate.

Victimisation by the PPP and Police
Wednesday, 11 March 2009
Dear Mr. Benschop
I am a victim of the PPP Govt. like yourself. This whole thing about Immigration Scam is a frame up to embarass me and to destroy my good name and character.
It involves Clement Rohee, the Police and someone at the top of the Govt. according to two CID inspectors. They are in cahoots with the real criminal, Alim Samad.

PNC gone to the dogs under Corbin's leadership

Guyana Observer

Dear Editor,

Robert CorbinPermit me to put into perspective an issue raised by John DaSilva ref (KN 20.02.09) under the caption “Guyana decayed under the PNC, not PPP”.  According to Mr. DaSilva, “The University of Guyana, which Burnham and the PNC ridiculed as “Jagan’s night school”, and from which thousands of Guyanese plus nationals of other countries have benefited, was Dr. Cheddi Jagan’s idea.”  Mr. DaSilva and the PPP should remember however it was LFS Burnham SC, the Father of this Nation (the man who led us to Independence) who embraced the idea of a national university and saw its transformation into a multi-faculty institution with the physical infrastructure of the Turkeyen campus. He did this because he understood the need for tertiary education and not being spiteful and petty in his politics, as is the case with the PPP/C in government, did what was best for the country.

The USA & Guyana Constitutions and Indigenous Communities
Sunday, 08 February 2009

Dear Editor,

During his campaign, President Obama placed indigenous communities high on his agenda. On the day of his adoption by an American Indian family he stated that he believed that treaty commitments made to American Indians by the United States of America were ‘paramount law’. He promised to fulfil those commitments as President. Article VI of the USA Constitution provides that all treaties made under the authority of the USA are included in what constitutes the ‘supreme law of the land’.

The PNC will continue to flounder under Demolition Corbin
Sunday, 08 February 2009

Dear Editor,

CorbinThe PNC retreat is this weekend. Mark my word those bastards will endorse Demolition Corbin. The PNC will continue to flounder under the blind leader. Corbin will be given a new key to a bigger bulldozer with bigger wheels to continue the demolition of the party, members and institutions.

Mission Statement

The Mark Benschop Foundation was officially launched in March 2008 by its founder and chairman Mark Benschop and other concerned Guyanese and well wishers in the United States of America. What started as a small operation geared toward helping those in need has grown so large that they were forced to move their offices to a whole building in East Street where the vast amount of people responding to their generosity  could be accommodated.
