Re: Stop trivializing the seriousness of democracy, justice and rights, Randy Persaud.
Friday, 28 August 2009
Lincoln LewisDear Editor/Dr. Randy Persaud,
I respond to “Randy Persaud responds to Lincoln Lewis” (KN 22/8/2009). Attempts to trivialize serious issues of democracy, justice and rights will find no ally in me. Your first note (‘The PNCR Congress and a note to Mr. L Lewis’ (GC, August 13, 2009) is built on your understanding of democracy, wherein you involved me for expressing gratitude to those who condemned the government transgression of our rights when they locked us up for speaking out against tyrannical rule.

Volcano In Guyana Moving Closer To Eruption
Wednesday, 26 August 2009
Bharrat JagdeoBY Ariston Lyte
In the words of the old Guyanese saying "mouth open, story jump out." Mouths are opening in a District Court in New York and matters involving the Guyana Government's relationship with convicted Guyanese Drug Lord, Roger Khan are no w jumping out...
For many years, Guyanese have known of the relationship but for the first time, sworn testimony of witnesses and evidentiary  documents are now in the public domain.

Who Wants to Return Home?

THE JOURNEY HOME
July 22, 2009 by Wayne Forde.

“It’s the dream of every man to return to the land where he was born; and that’s how it is with me. Every night I say a silent prayer for the day when I can go home again-to feel the warm morning sun and to walk where I used to run. Many things can keep a man and his homeland apart, but the years and the miles can’t change what’s in a man’s heart. Someday, some how I’ll return to the land I love.”  (Cuando  Sali deCuba)

The time has come to Organize and Mobilize.
For those who left Guyana in despair; for those who cannot return because of fear. For the oppressed and the hopeless masses at home and abroad who yearn for change and civility, peaceful living and living in peace; the poor  and the down trodden, victims and the victimized the time has come for CHANGE THAT WE CAN EMBRACE.

More than one Spy Equipment, who was Khan's boss
Thursday, 06 August 2009
Lincoln LewisDear Editor,
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Henry Green, insistence that the Police has in its possession a spy equipment may have merit.  The first time Guyanese knew about this equipment was when a Guyana Defence Force patrol caught a group of men on the night of December 4, 2002 in the area of Good Hope, East Coast Demerara. This group included a member of the Black Clothes Squad and Shaheed Roger Khan.

R2P Reduces Adults to Children

Dear Editor
I was reading with interest your editorial dated, 4th August, 2009. And it seems as if there is a tacit agreement by the government and all sections of society, viz. Court, police, political parties, academic community, media, church, etc to keep the people in bondage. All these institutions are apparently protective of the status quo. They seem to want only cosmetic changes, superficial reformation, but no real change, no revolution.

Mission Statement

The Mark Benschop Foundation was officially launched in March 2008 by its founder and chairman Mark Benschop and other concerned Guyanese and well wishers in the United States of America. What started as a small operation geared toward helping those in need has grown so large that they were forced to move their offices to a whole building in East Street where the vast amount of people responding to their generosity  could be accommodated.
