The Wright family made it right to some footballers A quantity of football gear was yesterday donated to the Flamingo Football Club. The items were handed over to the clup by its president Mark Benschop on behalf of the Wright family of the USA. Benschop said that " the Wright family are committed to the development of the sport, and have pledged their support for this particular club..."

Empowering continues at the Benschop FoundationYesterday (Sunday) over twenty-five young ladies graduated from a two months cosmetology course offered at the Mark Benschop Foundation. The course was conducted by Ms. Abiola Waterman, a cosmetologist who remarked "I have always wanted to do this, and so when I approached Mr. Benschop with the idea, he quickly agreed."

Benschop Foundation has done it againLast Saturday over 50 residents from Leeds Village on the Corentyne graduated from a one month introduction to computer course offered by the Benschop Foundation. Educator, Ms. Waveney Dorset, thanked Mr. Benschop and his Foundation for a great job done.

Over 200 children graduated from the Benschop FREE computer course Over 200 youngsters recently graduated from the free computer course offered by the Mark Benschop Foundation. Head of the Foundation, Mr. Mark Benschop told the students "today, I am very proud of you, and I hope that the government and the opposition parties would stop playing cheap politics and look after the youths by ensuring that all schools throughout Guyana have a computer lab..."

Leo ThompsonMiami based Bajan, Leo Thompson has kept his promise to the Benschop Foundation. Mr. Thompson recently made a promise to donate some lights and ceiling fans to the Foundation. Thompson, an electrical engineer by profession has pledged to assist Mr. Benschop and his Foundation in every way possible.

Mission Statement


The Mark Benschop Foundation was officially launched in March 2008 by its founder and chairman Mark Benschop and other concerned Guyanese and well wishers in the United States of America. What started as a small operation geared toward helping those in need has grown so large that they were forced to move their offices to a whole building in East Street where the vast amount of people responding to their generosity  could be accommodated.
